What is Startups Compass?
A fundraising CRM for founders. It keeps your investor pipeline with follow-up reminders, notes and documents, a multi-round cap table with dilution, partnerships, tasks and costs — in one place, from the first intro to a closed round.
Who is it for?
Founders who are raising money, or about to, and want to track every investor conversation and know their real dilution without juggling spreadsheets.
Where is my data stored?
On the Local plan your records stay in your own browser, on your own computer; nothing you enter is sent to our servers. On the Cloud plan an encrypted copy is also kept in the European Union, with daily restore points, and the files you attach are stored there too (up to 2 GB).
What is the difference between the Local and Cloud plans?
Prices are shown in your local currency where available, and you can choose to pay in US dollars or euros. In US dollars, Local costs $9.90 a month or $99 a year and keeps everything in your browser. Cloud costs $14.90 a month or $149 a year and adds an encrypted cloud backup with restore points, the same data on every computer you sign in from, and 2 GB of storage (up to 50 MB per file) for the files you attach to investors, partners and tasks.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Your first subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is needed to start it; if you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged at all.
Can I cancel, and how do refunds work?
You can cancel at any time yourself, from the app's settings; cancelling stops the next renewal. You can request a refund within 14 days of any charge. Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record, under Paddle's refund policy.
Can I bring in my existing investor list?
Yes. Import an Excel or CSV file from the Import / Export tab; you map its columns to fields before anything is imported. You can export everything to Excel or a full backup file at any time.
Does Startups Compass send emails to investors for me?
No. The app helps you write emails from templates and opens them in your own email app; you review and send each one yourself. We never send messages on your behalf.
Do you read my data or use it to train AI?
No. On the Local plan we never receive your records at all. On the Cloud plan we hold an encrypted copy only so it can be restored for you; we do not read it except as needed to support and secure the service or where legally required, and we never use it to build any product, dataset or model.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
For 60 days after a subscription ends you can sign in and download everything — an Excel export, a full backup file and, on the Cloud plan, a ZIP of your files — or choose a plan again. After 60 days the cloud copy and stored files are deleted. Data in your own browser is never touched by us.
What can the cap table and dilution calculator do?
Model your cap table round by round — SAFEs, convertible notes, priced rounds, secondaries and the option pool — and see each holder's ownership and dilution. A simplified free dilution calculator is available without signing up.
Which languages does it support?
English, Hebrew, Japanese, Spanish, French, German and Chinese.
