Startups Compass vs Foundersuite
Everything you need to close the round, from the first meeting to money in the bank.
Foundersuite is known for its investor database and outreach. Startups Compass is for running the conversations once they start: the pipeline, the reminders, the documents and a cap table that shows what the round does to you.

From the first meeting to money in the bank
Foundersuite is strongest at finding investors and reaching many of them. We are built for what comes next: running each conversation through to the close, with the next step, the reminder and the documents in one place.
The cap table beside your investors
SAFEs, notes, option pool, priced rounds and an exit waterfall, with the round forecast by stage. Foundersuite offers cap table templates to download, not round modelling inside the product.
One clear price, no caps
$199 a year whether you track 40 investors or 400. Foundersuite prices by how many investors fit in a pipeline: $745 a year past 75, $1,069 for 1,000.
Private by design
We never read your email or calendar and never track your investors: the deck goes as a PDF from your own email. Notes are summarised by the AI built into your browser, on your computer, and your data is encrypted in the EU.
Made by a founder, for founders
Built by a founder during a real raise, to fix the problems that raise ran into. Every feature exists because a raise needed it.
Find investors, then follow through
Search the built-in investor directory by sector, stage, type and region, add one in a click, and each morning the Dashboard says who is overdue and who is waiting for your reply.
What makes Startups Compass different
An investor database, with deep search
Search a built-in directory of funds and angels by sector, stage and type, add the ones that fit to your pipeline in one click, and match investors to your company. Included in the plan, not a paid add-on, and we do not quote a headcount for it.
Today: what needs you, in three lines
Every morning the Dashboard says who is overdue, which tasks are due and where the round stands. Plain sentences, no digging.
Your round, and where it is likely to land
Round progress with a forecast by stage: not just what is committed, but what the pipeline suggests you will reach.
The cap table next to your investors
SAFEs, convertible notes, option pool, priced rounds, secondaries and an exit waterfall, so before you sign you see what the round does to you.
Your notes, summarised by AI that never leaves your computer
A short summary of everything you wrote about an investor, written by the AI built into your browser. Nothing is sent to us or to any AI provider.
A nudge when an investor goes quiet
The investor brief shows where things stand at a glance, and the Dashboard tells you who is waiting for a follow-up, with one click to add a meeting to your calendar.
Bring the Excel list you already have
It finds the right sheet and header row, recognises your column names and reads dates day-first or month-first, so your list comes in as it is.
What a year costs
Foundersuite also has a free Basic plan (75 investors per pipeline). Prices shown are its annual-billing prices; its tiers grow with the number of investors per pipeline. Read from each company's own pages on 18 October 2026; prices change, so check before you decide. Startups Compass: $19.90 a month or $199 a year, in US dollars, with everything included. 14-day free trial (a payment method is needed; cancel before it ends and nothing is charged).
What they offer, and what it means for you
A large investor database
Open on every plan, including the free one; review sites quote 216,000 to 250,000 investors, a number we could not verify. For you: what you pay for is pipeline size, 75 investors free, then 200, 1,000 or 1,500. "1,000 investors" is the size of your own list, not the database. We have a built-in directory with search by sector, stage and type, and a pipeline with no cap at one price.
The same features on every plan
The plans differ in pipeline size and support; the data room is a paid extra. For you: as soon as your list passes 75 investors you pay $745 a year, and $1,069 for 1,000. With us the list never decides the price, and the files library is included.
Warm-intro paths
Foundersuite suggests who can introduce you, from your LinkedIn, email and calendar. For you: it means handing your email and calendar to a third party. We never read your email or calendar.
Mass outreach with tracking
Campaigns from the product, and you see who opened your deck and updates. For you: investors can tell a mass campaign, and many dislike being tracked. We help you write to each investor yourself, from your own email, with the deck as a PDF.
A free Basic plan
Free for good, up to 75 investors in a pipeline. For you: free until your raise gets serious.
Which one fits
Choose Foundersuite if finding investors you do not know yet, and reaching out to many of them, is the hard part. Choose Startups Compass if you already have the names and need to run the conversations, keep ownership in view and keep the price low.
